A wide variety of interests, including traditional Arabic music, late-19th century impressionism, free jazz, soul, hip- and
trip-hop inform Bessam's innovative and bizarre musical identity. His suite-form compositions employ instrumental and
vocal experimentation to wander through a spectrum of moods, often sounding like incantations. What emerges is a genre-defying,
boundary-pushing sound which challenges as well as engrosses its listeners. His debut album, a sort of aleatoric, avant-rock/jazz fusion chamber concerto entitled Not Our Evil, will be available through The Rev Records in early 2008.
